Review: Blitzwolf BW-P5 15600mAh – Small In Size, Great In Power

Running out of power is the worst thing that can happen for your smartphone. Not able to communicate or check Instagram! I don’t want to think about it… Luckily there are very good performing powerbank available, like the BlitzWolf BW-P5!

Introduction & Specifications

I hate it when I run out of power. Not being able to use my smartphone to browse the web, call somebody or text when I’m in need is just the worst feeling. Luckily there are plenty of power banks available, like the Aukey. Now BlitzWolf created one which has 15600 mAh!

Unboxing

The packaging was a bit of a letdown. If we compare this to the BlitzWolf BW-FWC4 I’m a little disappointed. Luckily I’m not reviewing the packaging of the BlitzWolf BW-P5 but the content of it.

Inside the package, we find the BlitzWolf BW-P5, a micro-USB cable, a warranty guide, and a user manual.

Hardware & Design

I really like the design of the BlitzWolf BW-P5. It is not that large and the compact design surprised me. For example the Aukey Powerbank with 16000 mAh power is a lot bigger. It may be a bit too heavy for some people, but the weight comes with a lot of power! You can charge your device multiple times with the BlitzWolf BW-P5.

The button, the LED lights, and the USB ports are feeling and looking very good and durable. I don’t see any of those stop working very shortly.

Size

It is a bit big, but I can live with that. You can not put 15600 mAh battery power inside a small powerbank. I wish it was true, but that is not possible now. For its capability the BlitzWolf BW-P5 is really nice in size and is super easy to use. The design team of BlitzWolf did a good job on this product.

LED Light

There are 4 LED lights on the side of the BlitzWolf BW-P5. Each LED stands for 25% of the battery. This is super simple and we see it a lot in a different charger. For example, if 2 LED lights are burning, you have between 50% and 25% battery. This gives you a clear indication of the battery level of the BlitzWolf BW-P5.

Performance

The performance of the BlitzWolf BW-P5 is amazing. I expected to charge my phone, at most, 3 times. Luckily BlitzWolf knows how to make technology, like we saw in the BlitzWolf BW-FWC5. The BlitzWolf BW-P5 is not only looking great but has some amazing performance!

QC 3.0 Charger’s Voltage Output will run at 3.6V-12V.

On QuikcCharge 3.0 mode, I was able to charge my Xiaomi Mi Note 3, 3 times and the Elephone U Pro 1 time. I’m really happy with the performance, even if the charging time (9 hours) is a bit long.

Charging

Charging the BlitzWolf BW-P5 completely takes around 9 hours. During the charging period, it stays cool to touch and does not heat up at all. This makes it safe to leave at the charger, even when you leave your house.

As you can read above, I can charge my Xiaomi Mi Note 3 around 3 times and my Elephone U Pro around 1 time on a single charge.

Features

What kind of features can you expect on a powerbank? Right, Quick Charge 3.0! The BlitzWolf BW-P5 supports QC3 on one of the USB-ports. If you want to quickly gain some power, use that port and you will charge your smartphone faster (if it supports QC3 of course). QC 3.0 Charger’s Voltage Output will run at 3.6V-12V.

There are powerbank available which can charge wirelessly as well, I hope we are going to see that even more in the future. For now, there are just a few who support it. The BlitzWolf BW-P5, unfortunately, does not have it, but it has QC3 which is really nice!

Conclusion

The BlitzWolf BW-P5 is a really nice powerbank. It is not that large for the capacity it holds and it supports Quick Charge 3.0 which is a big plus. Even though it weighs 420 grams, it is still worth carrying, especially when you are on vacation. With the BlitzWolf BW-P5, you can easily charge your smartphone 2, 3 or 4 times, depending on the size of your smartphone battery.
