Alfawise hits the market with a new version of the Alfawise V1, the Alfawise V2! This mechanical keyboard has everything you want, including media keys and 5 programmable macro keys.
Introduction & Specifications
Why do you want a mechanical keyboard? I asked the same question when I received this keyboard from GearBest. What is the difference between a mechanical keyboard and a “normal” keyboard? First of all, the mechanism is very different on a mechanical keyboard. Also, the expected keystrokes may be lower. For example, a normal keyboard gets around 4 to 6 million keystrokes, where the Alfawise V2 is able to reach around 50 million! That is roughly 10 times higher! The third but not the least feature is the way to stroke the keys. With a mechanical keyboard, you need less power to press down the keys if we compare that to a “normal” keyboard.
Reasons enough to test the Alfawise V2!

Unboxing
This box is one of the more simpler boxes I have seen. It has the brand name on the front, Alfawise and that is basically it. There is not more information on the box. Inside we find the keyboard, which is well protected. And that is it! There is nothing more to show.
Hardware & Design
Unboxing the Alfawise V2 is simple, as seen above. When you finally see the keyboard, you will see the beauty of this keyboard. It is my first mechanical keyboard and I’m impressed and in love. The Alfawise V2 uses the Outemu Blue Switches, which are the cheaper version of the Cherry MX switches. For me, as a non-experienced mechanical keyboard user, the Outemu Blue Switches feels good and solid.
On the alfawise V2, we find 5 macro keys and a record key. With this key, you can record your macro’s and use them while gaming, programming or whatever you are doing. Also, there are multimedia keys to control your music. Super handy.

Software/Driver Download
With the software, which you can download below, you can choose more RGB effect and even make your own! How amazing is that? Don’t like the pre-programmed RGB effect? Just create your own! You can change the speed, the colors and the direction of the RGB effect.
With the software, you can also program the macro keys. All super handy and simple to use.
There is a English driver available. I’ve made it available for download if you Click Here.
OUTEMU Blue Switches
The Outemu Blue Switches are the cheaper cloned version of the Cherry MX Switches. Are they better? I can not tell you. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I do not have experience with the Cherry MX Switches. With the Outemu Blue Switches, there is an actuation force of 60 grams. This might seem high, but I feel like the Alfawise V2 is super easy clickable and reacts quicker than my laptop keyboard. If it would be possible, I would change my laptop keyboard for the Alfawise V2 immediately.
Macro Key’s
With the Alfawise V2, you can program 5 macro key’s. This is very handy if you have to perform the same action over and over again. With this key’s you can record a specific action and activate those keystrokes by pressing one of the 5 macro buttons. For gamers or programmers, I can image this feature be very handy.
Anti-Ghosting
For gamers, this is a must-have if you ask me. Sometimes you have to press more than 3 keys at a time to cast a spell or perform an action. With a normal keyboard, there is a limitation on the maximum number of keys you can press at a time. With the Alfawise V2, which supports anti-ghosting, you can press all the key at the same time.
For casting a spell, activating a power-up or to perform the action, this is a requirement for gamers. Luckily Alfawise has some gamers in their development team and they implemented the anti-ghosting in the Alfawise V2.

RGB Programs
The Alfawise V2 has some cool RGB Programs. It uses the VS11K09A-1 LED controller. Now you are able to enjoy some great RGB effect while gaming or turn them completely off when you are at work. You can turn the RGB brightness on by pressing FN + arrow up and you can turn the brightness down by pressing FN + arrow down.
If you want to change the RGB effect, you can do that from the keyboard too. You have to press FN + arrow right. This will change the RGB effect. Want to change the direction the RGB effect is going? Press FN + arrow left.
Here are the different RGB effects:
Conclusion
Since this is my first mechanical keyboard, I do not have that much experience with them. The Alfawise V2 surprised me. It types really nice, the switches are very reliable (up to 50 million keystrokes) and that is what we want in a keyboard. Once you are familiar with a keyboard, you don’t want to change it too often. With the Alfawise V2, you are good for the coming years.
The macro keys are really handy on the keyboard and can be used by everybody in their own way. Do you want to program some game spells or attacking moves? No problem! Want to use it as a programmer, you are fine too! The Alfawise V2 is there for everybody.
The keys make a nice clicky sound and I had to get used to that in the beginning. For people who already have a mechanical keyboard that is easier. If you don’t have it and want to use one at work, consider the clicking sound before bringing it to your work. The sound may annoy your coworkers.
