Unboxing

There is no surprise in the packaging of BlitzWolf products. For me, it is fine since the quality of the packaging is good and it looks nice and professional. It is white again with some green touches and the name is on front and some minor specifications are on the back.

Opening the box, we see that the light and the cables are in there without any extra protection. The light itself is well protected, so it can handle a bump. Inside we find the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 and a micro-USB charging cable. There is no power adapter, just the cable. Last but not least we have the information and manual inside.

Hardware & Design

The BlitzWolf BW-LT9 has an egg-shaped light with a protective case around it. This design is done great and it protects the light inside too. BlitzWolf has an amazing design team and so far I loved their products, like the BlitzWolf wireless earbuds, the BlitzWolf powerbank, the BlitzWolf wireless charger and the BlitzWolf Bluetooth extender).

The touch panel on top works great and is not visible, which is really nice. The on/off switch is visible on the front and it works good and simple. No pressure needed to control the switch. Have a look at the great design yourself.

Features

The BlitzWolf BW-LT9 is not just a single light that you can turn on or off. You can control it via touch and it works surprisingly well. You can switch between the white light modes and the colored light modes. Whichever you prefer, let’s have a look at how the controls work.

Controls

You first have to turn on the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 with the switch on the front. This is a simple on/off switch. Of course, if you like to use it, you have to set the switch to on. The controls for white light and colored light work differently. Below we talk about the different controls for each setting.

Controls for White Light

Followed the instructions above, the light is now turned on. When you touch the light on top, it will change the white light level. There are three different stages, those are dim, medium and bright. Just choose the one that fits the situation best.

If you want to switch to the colored mode, you have to long press the top while in white mode. This will get you to the colored cycle mode.

Controls for Colored Light

When you are in the colored cycle mode, the light will change a lot of different colors. If you see one you like, you just have to touch the top of the light and it will confirm the current light. If you want to change, you tap the top again and you enter the cycle mode again. The downside of this colored switching method is that, if you miss the color, you have to wait for a complete cycle of colors which might take 5 seconds before you can select it again.

Just as switching to colored mode light, you can switch back by long pressing the top of the light.

Turn on/off

To turn the light on, first, you have to set the switch to “on”. When that is done, you can turn it on by touching the top. This does not have to be with pressure, just a light brief touch is enough. You can only turn off the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 when it is in the white mode. You can turn the light off to tap the top twice within two seconds.

Battery Life

The controls and the different features are impressive, but I’m really happy with the battery life of the BlitzWolf BW-LT9. Charging the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 takes only 2 hours, which is really short.

If the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 is powered off and on standby, you have around 2 months of power inside! 2 months!! When it is powered on, you have around 72 hours. This is 3 complete days! When the BlitzWolf BW-LT9 is turned to white, you have 4 hours of battery life. The monochromatic colored light is able to shine 6 hours and the changing colored light is able to work for 4 hours.

Conclusion

The light looks great and it is well protected. If you are using this for your kids, you don’t have to worry about breaking the light. It just works even when it is dropped. The battery life is great, especially for kids if they want to keep it on all night. Controlling the light might be a bit harder for a kid since the controls to switch and change mode are not super easy if you haven’t read the manual. Even if you are a grown-up, you want to read the manual to know all the controls.

The design is good but maybe a bit childish. The uTorch YL304B would be better if you are a grown-up. On the other hand, it is a light that catches attention when you walk into a room.
